Who is Orkut??

A guy lost his girlfriend in a train accident....

but the gal's name nowhere appeared in the dead list. This guy grew up n became IT technical architect in his late 20's, achievement in itself!!

He hired developers from the whole globe and plan to make a software where he could search for his gf through the web..

Things went as planned...

n he found her, after losing millions of dollars and 3 long years!!

It was time to shut down the search operation, when the CEO of Google had a
word with this guy n took over this application,

This Software made a whopping 1 billion dollars profit in its first year,

which we today know as ORKUT.


The guy's name is Orkut Büyükkökten Yes it's named after him only. Today he is paid a hefty sum by Google for the things we do like scrapping. He is expected to b the richest person by 2009..

Orkut Büyükkökten today has 13 assistants to monitor his scrapbook & 8 to

monitor his friends-list. He gets around 20,000 friend-requests a day & about 85,000 scrap

Here i will try to provide you with all the latest tips and tricks of orkut ..Most of them are working ..all are just for fun..

1] Orkut Shortcuts

Orkut has shortly released the shortcut keys.....

here they are.......


alt + shift + s - scrapbook
alt + shift + h - home
alt + shift + c - communities
alt + shift + b - friends
alt + shift + p - profile
alt + shift + l - logout

Try it out..

2] Blank Scraps

Orkut usually does not permit Blank messages or scraps..
but here is how u can send one to your friend

open the scrapbook.
type "[i]" without the double inverted commas
click on the option send.

3] Hidden message within the scrap

You can send hidden Message within you scrap
just send the scrap in the format:

[acronym title="hidden text/message"]ur visible scrap[acronym]

replace the square brackets with "<" and ">" and its done

when u move your mouse pointer over the message u will see the secret / hidden txt flashing over it.

4] Get Orkut Scraps delivered to your mobile

It's very simple..and for those who don't know how to do it ..here it is..

go to ur orkut page

u will find settings option

click on that

then u will see tab mobile to the extreme right

click on that

give ur mobile no. there

and its done..

hey dis is really a cool trick...
it can help u to find out how many female friends are there in ur frnds account..
just open victim's frndlist
now look at the addressbar >> u can see the link like this....

now just add &q=female in the end of link.

Now see wat u got ....u'll see only female frnds of the victim.. u can also use it in community members list..

How to make your name invisible in your profile?

For making your name invisible follow the steps:
1) Click on edit profile
2) Type ALT + 0173 in your first name and last name. (i.e. Type 0173 while pressing the ALT key of your keyboard.)
3) Click on Update
