Wireless networking (WLAN) isn't just for taking your computer to different spots in your house and being able to access the Internet without cables. It also allows you to print and transfer files between any other computers or devices connected to your network.

Instructions

    • 1
      Click the Start button and select "Documents." Under "Favorites," click "Public."
    • 2
      Add files you wish to share to the Public folders.

      Navigate to Control Panel > Network and Internet > Network and Sharing Center. Click the down-arrow button next to "Public Folder Sharing."

      Select the preferred access level for the Public folders that you are sharing on your WLAN. Click "Apply."
    • 5
      Perform the same steps on any other computers on your WLAN that you want to share files from.
    • 6
      Access and transfer files on another computer on your WLAN by navigating to Control Panel > Network and Internet > Network Connections. Double-click on the computer you want to transfer files to/from and drag and drop from the Public folder.
